LUANG PRABANG

Luang Prabang: one of the most beautiful places of South East Asia and top destination of Laos. VANG VIENG

Vang Vieng is a small town north of Vientiane, on the Nam Song River in Laos. It is surrounded by striking limestone mountains and caves. Tham Poukham, to the west, is a cave with a blue-green lagoon and a reclining Buddha statue. North is the deep Tham Nam Cave, which has a spring at its entrance. Nearby, Tham Xang Cave has a stalactite resembling an elephant. The town is home to 16th- and 17th-century monasteries. (Wikipedia)

VIENTIANE

Vientiene: Laos’ capital. Located in the heart of Laos,  Vietiene carries on its own a long history of Buddhism and French colonization.  Buddhism has tremendous influence in many aspects of Laotian life. Located in the city centre is the sacred gilded stupa of Pha That Luang (The Great Stupa), a national symbol and cultural monument of Laos.
In the heart of Laos lies Vientiane, the largest city and the country’s capital. Vientiane, which means “city of sandalwood”, sits on the banks of the Mekong River near the border with Thailand and prides itself for its Buddhist temples and French colonial architecture scattered throughout the city.

VIENG THONG

Vieng Thong is a district and a town in Houaphan Province in north-eastern Laos. It is the gateway for the Nam Et-Phou Louey National Protected Area, which is home to a number of endangered species including tiger. The protected area headquarters are located in the Muang Hiem (Viengthong) town.

PAKSE

Pakse is the capital of Champasak Province, founded by French colonialists in 1905. The kingdom was destroyed in 1946 after which the Kingdom of Lao was created. Pakse is located at the mouth of the rivers Xedong and Mekong. The term Pakse means the ‘Mouth of the River Se’. This city is inhabited by 70,000 people and the Pakse International Airport serves as a link to the Bolaven Plateau. The construction of this airport was completed in November 2009, and has connections to Siem Reap, Vientiane and Bangkok.
